Re-Activating the Solid Commerce Excel Add-In Tool

image

Our new Excel Tool is pretty powerful. Occasionally Excel might not be able to handle all this power, and might crash.

When this happens, you’ll be prompted to disable the Solid Commerce add-in tool. Sometimes this deactivation happens automatically, which means you won’t be able to use the Excel tool, and that’s no good.

Here’s how to reactivate the tool, if this happens to you:

The ebay local column is in the file and has US for all items that I list. I tried moving it adjacent to the ebay int ship service column(I know it doesn't matter what order but I figured I would try) I'm still getting the same error that tells me to 'turn on the Inline Help (it's on) with Valid Local Ebay values'. It populated 'ebay int ship service' columns w/ correct USPS shipping service for items over 1 pound but anything less won't work since I can't find valid USPS First Class Intnl code

Hello again!

Try using the scroll option on the right-hand side of the drop-down menu to locate the appropriate shipping service value. For USPS First Class Mail International, use the entire value as shown in the above screenshot.

If this does not work, please submit the Excel sheet you’re working with to your account manager so he or she can review it. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible, should that be the case.

Have a great day!

Hi Can you point me in the right direction to find a list of valid international ship codes for ebay listings? I know that they're updated now and I'm getting an error for anything that I want to ship as USPS First Class International. W/ lnline help on and hover over the 'ebay int ship service 1' field, I get the error message: "In order to check values, please turn inline help on with valid ebay local value" (local value is correct for Priority mail listings so assume same for 1st class) Thx!

Hi there!

When overriding the shipping methods through Excel, try adding the “eBay Local” field in Excel with a value of “US” (assuming it’s for the US marketplace).

Adding the field with those values will automatically enable a drop-down menu in Excel under the “Shipping Service” fields with the available/valid values for each column.

Hope that helps! Shoot us any other questions if you have them. :)

Hi! Ran into an error while uploading new products to ebay. Initially it wouldn't run w/o an 'ebay local' column. Found that, entered 'US' for the value. The sheet ran but it wanted to update the 'ebay int ship service 1' column with current values. After troubleshooting, I found it imported the values,13 (ounces), into the pound field in the ebay template, which then led it to select an incorrect shipping method...What unit of measure should be used in 'ebay package weight' now?

Hi there! Sorry you’re having a bit of an issue. Here’s what we think might help:

Both the eBay package weight and the product weight field should be populated in ounces within Excel, then translated as such on the Solid Commerce interface.

If you’re still having these values converted to lbs. in the listing details on ChannelsManager, please let us know. That’s something our dev team will need to address if it’s the case.

Thanks, and we hope that helps!

Hi ..thanks for such a quick response….I double-checked a few different sku’s and looked at the details in their eBay listing details w/in solid commerce…they’re definitely translating from ounces in excel to pounds in solid commerce…ie..I entered 13 in excel and it populates as 13 pounds
Thanks again!

Not a problem! We’re working on a solution to your newer question at this very moment. :)

Another Convenient eBay Feature: “Last Template Set”

Think this new update is ONLY about Excel and eBay International? Think again, friends.

One of our favorite new features shows you which eBay Listing Template you used last time. You’ll be able to expose this through the “Columns Setup” link in the top-left corner of the screen.

This information will also populate into Excel when you use the “Retrieve” feature in the new version of the Excel Tool.

eBay International & New Shipping Methods

It’s time to take the world by storm! We’re now supporting eBay International marketplaces, which means we’re also going to be updating the way we manage eBay shipping methods?

What do I need to do to prepare?

Nothing! All this is going to be set up for you when you update your system. Should be business as usual, but with a few new features added to the Channels Manager site.

Still Want to Use the Web-Based Uploader? Go for It!

Fear not! We haven’t forgotten about our web-based Uploader users. the web uploader will also be updated to support all the new fields found in our new and improved Excel Tool.

This update will include support for eBay’s native shipping methods. If you upload a file with old shipping methods, we will map them to the new methods. However, to get the most accurate results, we recommend using the new Solid Commerce Excel Tool whenever it’s possible to populate your files.

Turning on the Inline Help feature of the new Excel tool will also allow you to view a drop down menu with all the valid eBay shipping methods.
